iTransact Announcements

Sales Tax Handling for iTransact E-Commerce Updated

Recently the handling of sales tax for those UnFranchise® Owners and Customer Managers who utilize iTransact has been updated to improve the quality of service. The system has been revised so that you only collect sales tax from customers in states where you have a sales tax ID on file with Market America. Your customers will no longer be charged sales tax in states where you do not have a sales tax ID. For example, if you have a sales tax ID on file for Md. and you sell a product in Md., your customer would be charged sales tax (if tax was applicable), so that you could remit the sales tax back to the state as required. If you did not have a sales tax ID on file for Calif. and sold a product to a customer in Calif., your customer would not be charged sales tax.

This does not affect the tax or administration fees applied to any order that you as a Customer Manager place with Market America directly; this only affects orders that customers are placing with you. As an iTransact member, you are able to manage your customer relationship more effectively.

New iTransact Videos Available

We have recently added new online videos that will help you get the most out of your iTransact merchant account, or help you learn about some of the features of your iTransact merchant account if you haven't explored those features recently. To view the new videos, go to itransact.com and click on the "Video Training Modules" link under the section titled "Main E-Commerce Links". There will be more videos to come in the future; meanwhile, take advantage of the information that is available now to help you get the most out of being an iTransact member!

Also, as a reminder, if you are currently utilizing Elavon (formerly Nova) as your processor (the company that sends you your monthly report on sales processed through your merchant account) we highly recommend contacting iTransact today to convert over to iPayment. Additional new enhancements are coming to those with iTransact and those enhancements will most likely only be available to individuals utilizing iPayment. There is no charge to switch and the process is simple and straightforward; just give iTransact a call and they can take care of the details for you.
